A volcano of joy erupted as Dhoni slammed the final six of the game. It was pure passion that won us the match On Saturday night and we can all proudly say ‘Saare jahaan se acha, Hindustan hamara.’ After the win I felt like a proud guy, but above all a proud Indian. Cricket has been the biggest issue of pride for Indians, more than any language, culture or politics could. The only other thing that unites people so is war, but that is not a happy alliance. This one, however, is absolutely euphoric. When did we last see such outpouring of sheer joy on the streets of India and in the hearts of Indians as the nation celebrated the success of Team India which emerged triumphant in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup!
The WC is always illusion for many of cricket playing nations, for those who already did a lot of hard work to lift it and also for those for whom it’s still a dream to lift the WC trophy. The campaign started by defeating Bangladesh in Mirpur and looks how it ended in a splendid manner on April 2, 2011, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This is where India finally played the last post for the 1983 win, which has been an inspiration for 121 crore’s Indians, though few in the current teams would really be too bothered. They wanted their own little notch in history and they gained it in no uncertain terms.
Each and every match is full of excitement and hard work of players, match against Ireland, Netherland, breath stopping tie against England, loss against SA in tight match, win against Indies to confirmed meeting with Aussies in quarters. We started a bit loosely but if we are in bad position we will come back strongly, then comes match against Aussies many memorable instances Sachin’s batting, Gauti’s superb knock and run-out, Yuvis knock but the most memorable thing is Raina’s stunning six which come from the bottom of bat. Then comes high voltage match against Pakistan which is awaited for many years and WC is incomplete without this high tussle match. Again in this match Sachin came handy after 6 life lines, Raina also show power of his batting but most remarkable thing is the Indian fielding and superb bowling under pressure & also thanks to Misbah batting. So one thing is confirm for this Indian team that anything is not granted from destiny, these boys work hard to get each and every win, and otherwise how it’s possible to win 3 imp matches in row against the superb teams.
It was a great performance by everyone in the team throughout the tournament. None was the best everyday and everyday someone from the eleven did the best. And everyone else did their best to clinch the victory in the final. Each and every individual give his best and it’s crucial for us that so many players just executed when we need a lot, so its whole team effort. Dhoni’s leadership and his performance in the final match in Mumbai stole the limelight
The victory, when it came, uncorked spontaneous outbursts of joy around the city jam packed roads in whole M.G. Road, superb emotions in Rajawada whole festivals comes in a single night i.e. Holi, Diwali & even in whole country as fireworks lit up the sky, crackers contributed to the deafening cries as people danced through the night. A nation roared and the whole world sat up to notice the Indian team’s supremacy over world cricket. Ecstatic fans, wrapped in the Indian Tri-colour flag, have invaded the streets here. The drums are out. The sky is lit-up; as if Diwali- the festival of lights – has arrived early. It’s an unbelievable sight. Cricket enthusiasts painted their faces and draped themselves in the Indian Tri-colour as they moved about in their high-speed cars.
India the worthy world champions who defied history and intense pressure to come out triumphant in the summit showdown against Sri Lanka. It’s always said that” Great players and great character win matches” People had prayed, observed fasts, some stood on one leg and others resolutely gave the loo a miss during Saturday’s final in the belief that they could will Team India to win. It’s also thing to consider that When did we last see such outpouring of sheer joy on the streets of India and in the hearts of Indians as the nation celebrated the success of Team India which emerged triumphant in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup! The wait is finally over and India is the World Cup champions again! Indore erupted in frenzy, as loud, hysterical cheers and the explosions of crackers announced the return of the coveted World Cup to this cricket-addicted nation after a 28-year-long.
Thus this win meant a lot for each and everyone & they all do great hard work for it. How can we forget contribution of Sehwag to start inning with in his style so that no bowler is able to get back its rhythm, superb knocks by Gambhir in Q-final, semi-final and final, splendid performance by ZAK with ball. Also don’t forget the role of support staff and coach, Garry Kirsten, Paddy Upton and special thanks to Inspirational guru Mike Horn for preparing player’s to handle the extreme pressure cooker like condition. At the end words of Kirsten whom we goanna miss because he is going to leave Indian team after WC whose role is much more in our win that”You are the world’s best team and you have to continue that. The spark is there, don’t let it extinguish”. It’s due to his and efforts of team that such miracle is happened. Even our weakness became our strength, our unshakable confidence is key to our success because there are some initiatives that spelt glory in the end!!!!!!!!!!!
